A hash-sealed field record cannot be edited after the fact. Counterparties can verify integrity without trusting a mutable spreadsheet. This page is a short channel; the PlotSeal essay series owns the depth.
A cryptographic treatment record binds measured content (fuel data, photos, GPS, treatment particulars, timestamps) to an integrity hash. If the content changes, verification fails. The seal does not prove the crew was honest on day one — measurement discipline still matters — but it does prove the package you present later is the package that was sealed.
